Zoo is a place where an animal keeping is done inside enclosures open for public viewing. Some safari parks allows public to drive their vehicles so that they are able to create close contact with animals. The dartmoor zoo is spread over 30 acre of land.

You should at least have attained a age of 8 to experience the wildlife safari. The whole ride is of around 2 hours and all what you have to do is to book 2 months in advance for it and the voucher is valid for only six months from issue date.

A film named, ‘We bought a zoo' is into its making in which Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannson is in lead. Cameron Crowe will be directing this movie based on zoo of Dartmoor. This movie is about how Mee and his family purchased zoo. As the zoo under went through liquidation so film producer paid them advance of $400000 so that they can make payment to their creditors. This movie will hit the floors in December.

It has a unique collection of animals and is home to many big cats. Dartmoor Zoo reopened in July 2007 and has many animals like jaguar, tiger, cheetah, lynx, bear, raccoon, wolves, capybara, deer, ostrich, reptiles etc. There are about 20 full time employees. It opens at 10 am daily on all days of year. It is a place where people from all background and of all ages will enjoy to their fullest.
